• Hi all,

I’m sure this question may have been asked in the not so distant past, but I can’t seem to find it.

I have uploaded my WP theme in Dreamweaver (which I’m proficient working with), but when I try to make changes to the side bar, for instance, in the CSS I get the following error message when trying to apply the changes: “unexpected error occurred while trying to read style-sheet information”.

I have been trying to figure this out all afternoon/evening, and I’m afraid that I’m at a loss. If anyone has any suggestions or if you need more please let me know.

    Thanks,
    DT

  • Hi,

Is there a Macromedia/Adobe site that provides definitions for error messages?

Can you edit this style sheet with DreamWeaver if it is on your hard drive?

Can you browse this style sheet if it is on the web?

The message seems to say that the style sheet cannot be read as a text file. You need to be sure that you are using a valid style sheet. If you go to https://www.w3.org there is style sheet validation available.

    Thanks,

    Shane G.

Read the section regarding clearing your Dreamweaver’s cache file. It may have gotten corrupted from a powerfailure, crash, etc. You’ll find specific instructions based on your operating system and version of Dreamweaver
