• So here’s the story.
I selected my theme some months back, uploaded it and everything works perfectly. No hickups of any sort
    Until
I decided the other night to place an image within my sidebar. So put the code into my sidebar file where I wanted the image (affiliate box) and ftp it via Dreamweaver.
Checked the image but it wasn’t exactly where I wanted it so went back to Dreamweaver altered the code to place it a little bit more to the right and ftp the file again. Checked it and the image hadn’t moved! So I started moving it by quite noticeable amounts e.g.300px but it still stayed static.
Tried to remove the image – Dreamweavr – Remote – removed the offending code and click save. Back to Browser image still there, tried refresh, tried different computer; no joy.
It was then I decided to go to Design – Theme Editor and see what was there and there the code was in all its glory at its first placement.
So question is this a normal happening and do you have to change the code manually withing the theme editor each time you want to make an alternation to one of you files codes or should you be able to do it via the likes of Dreamweaver?
    Glad of any advice
    Kevin

  • You can edit sidebar PHP code in Dreamweaver. It sounds like Dreamweaver may be putting the file in the wrong place – worked the first time but not the other times.

Go into remote in the DW Files panel – find the sidebar.php file, see if its the code that is presently displaying. If so, see if you can open it in DW & edit it & FTP it back up to the server

The latest version of ThemeDreamer was just released (version .3) about an hour ago. It makes Dreamweaver into the only WYSIWYG theme editor and it may help you in performing alot of these minute changes vs. designing by trial and error.
