    Hello Forum Gurus,
I am trying to set up a multisite on DreamHost and having difficulties. Not sure what I am doing wrong. First issue – after deactivating all plugins showing on my site I modified the wp-config file. When I log back into my site and select network setup it keeps telling me that I need to deactivate plugins. Checking with FTP I found a DreamHost plugin hidden in the plugins folder that was not showing on the site.
I deativated that and went back in. Now the error is I no longer get the option for choosing subdirectories or subdomains. The system defaults to subdomains saying it is not a new install. DreamHost Shared plans do not support subdomains, only subdirectories (no wildcard).
    How do I fix this?
    Thanks.

WP wants you to use subdomains because existing networks can have conflicts introduced with subfolder networks. Site names conflicting with existing permalinks. Since your network isn’t too old this is unlikely. This section from support docs should help you convert to subfolder network.

Thanks for all your help. I have it working now and signed in. Everything seem to work. New site created and public on the front end. The new problem is that although I can see the site front end, I cannot log into the back end. I used Redirect-Checker.org and found it is stuck in a 302 loop.
Any suggestions to fix this one?
    Thanks.

@vocesdeiximulew – your domain name registration has expired. Go to any domain registrar and register your domain name without delay. If you have any further questions, please start a new topic for yourself. Jumping on to someone else’s long resolved topic means hardly anyone would see your question.
