Despite applying the recommended changes in this document (https://docs.wpvivid.com/backup-not-responding-or-timeout.html) I am unable to run a backup successfully due to a timeout problem that results in the follow error message
Error:wpvivid_request: timeout(timeout): an error occurred when trying to establish communication with your server. This error may be request not reaching or server not responding. Please try again later.

Even trying to cancel the backup task experiences a timeout issue with a repeat of the above error message.

I am running the free version of WPvivid Backup.

How can I resolve this issue?

    Hello @alendon ,

To successfully back up your site, navigate to the WPvivid settings page and configure the following:

    General settings:

    1. Uncheck the option of ‘Merge all the backup files into single package when a backup completes’

    Advanced settings:

    1. Uncheck the option of ‘Enable learning mode’

    2. Database access method: PDO?

    3. Compression method: Pclzip

    4. The number of files compressed to the backup zip each time: 300

    5. Split a backup every this size: 100 MB

    6. The number of database tables compressed to each zip: 1000

    7. Split a sql file every this size: 200 MB

    8. Exclude files larger than this size: 200MB

    9. Maximum PHP script execution time for a backup task: 300 seconds

    10. Maximum PHP memory for a backup task: 512 or 1024 MB

Afterward, please let us know if the issue has been resolved.

    Kind regards.

    Hi @nicholas2019,

Thanks for your response. Unfortunately, I already had all but one of these settings as you have explained and as I referred to in my original post. I have made sure I (now) have the latest version of the plugin and matched the same advanced options as you mentioned. Note I am using the free version and there is no such thing as POD3 (it is just POD) or PCLZIP4 (it is just PLCZIP) but nonetheless. I still cannot run a successful backup. I am still getting the same error message.

    Hi there,

Can you please tell me how to upload or send the debug page. I have downloaded it as a zip file but cant see any way in this forum to upload a file. I can see how to insert links but nothing else.

Regarding your comment To ensure efficient tracking of your thread, we kindly ask you to include the link to the thread in your email, I am a bit confused. I am not emailing and emails duplicating your reply are coming from a noreplay address so are you saying I need to add a line in each time as I have below?

Thanks for your help. It seems that my problem has been resolved, and I have been able to successfully back up my site. I had a conversation with my ISP about why WordPress was running so slowly. They investigated and increased the memory limit within the PHP settings.

I don’t know if this is the solution to my problem or coincidental but the issue seems resolved for now.
