• How to draw a feedback loop diagram

I have used the WordPress block editor to present two feedback loop diagrams and would like your ideas on how I can improve them.

I constructed the diagram with four elements on page
    https://www.feedbackreigns.net/tipping-points/

    This diagram uses:
. a table block with 5 columns and 5 rows
. Each column has the same width with centred text
    . Each right-pointing arrow uses 6 minus signs then a greater-than character
. Each left-pointing arrow uses a less-than character followed by 6 minus signs.
. I omitted an up arrow as using, on separate lines, a small L and a ^ looked ugly.
. I omitted a down arrow as using, on separate lines, a small “ and a small vee also looked ugly.
. The text stands out as it is bold and coloured

I have also constructed a feedback loop with three elements in the same way. This needs improvement.

Do you have any simple ideas on how to improve these diagrams?

These diagrams are horrid on a mobile. When viewed with a narrow & long screen (portrait), the narrow table columns force the text onto many lines and the table becomes long so you only see a small part of the diagram on the screen. When you twist the phone so you see a wide and short screen (landscape), you can see nearly all the diagram.

Perhaps I just need to keep on taking a photo of these diagrams and use these images.

  • The diagrams should be images, definitely. You can make a drawing in an image editor, instead of using text. There are online image editors if you don’t have one on your computer.

I have already constructed lots of those diagrams using MS Word. Easy. I just thought my page might load faster if I could use a table, and it would be easier for me to update the diagrams.
I’ll experiment a little further, e.g. see if I can use small text.
    Thanks
