I’m not sure if this is a tablepress issue or something else.

When uploading a table, I’ve always been able to drag and drop my csv file to upload it. I’m using Chrome. Now this isn’t working. Instead of uploading it, it actually seems to download another copy for me.

I haven’t changed browser or anything else but I can’t work out why this is no longer working. Do you think this is a TablePress issue, or something else?

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

TablePress doesn’t have “drag and drop to upload” implemented, so that’s interesting. So, the only support for this is if you really drag and drop the file to the “Choose file” field on the “Import” screen.
If you drop it anywhere else on the screen, it will be offered for download, as that’s then the expected behavior.

    Tobias

    Thanks for the reply.

Yes, that’s right, it’s when dragging and dropping to the ‘Choose file’ field on the Import screen. This used to work fine but for some reason isn’t working any more…

    Hi,

weird. This is working fine for me on two different sites in both Chrome and Firefox…
Not sure what’s wrong on your site then.
Can you please try to reproduce this with all other plugins deactivated and after switching to the WordPress default theme TwentyThirteen?
That would indicate whether another plugin is interfering right now.

It doesn’t make any difference if I turn off the plugins and change to the default theme. It’s still not working….

    Hi,

    ok, that’s strange then…
Could you maybe try again with a different browser or on a different computer, so that we can rule out that this is a local problem with your browser?

Also, can you check if there are any JavaScript errors reported in the error consoles of Chrome or Firefox?

The weird thing is that this drag and drop is pure browser functionality, so TablePress does nothing to influence that – and therefore I have no idea where things could have broken here ??

    Regards,
    Tobias
