• Hi there,

First of all – great plugin!

I set up a site for a client and it was just reported to me that he cannot order posts in Firefox (WordPress Version 3.7.1 and Firefox 26). Basically, drag and drop just dont work. Apparently it is working fine in Safari for him and also I myself have also not experienced any problems in Chrome, Safari and Firefox.

Any idea what the issue could be or how I could ask him to debug?

Thanks so much for any help!

UPDATE – Just talked again to the client and actually the whole Drag&Drop field just doesnt appear. He can only see the grey box on top with the writing: “Did you find this plugin useful etc”.

It is also not possible to order the posts manually by date. Strangely, that all worked fine on my localhost.

Would be great of anyone has any ides! Thank you!

Did you tried to clear the browser cache?
You mean the re-order list appear in a browser while in another does not show up? Do you see the bottom of WordPress admin text? i.e. Thank you for creating with WordPress as if this does not show up, the re may be an error on the php code.
Also possible something missed when doing the upload, i suggest delete everything and re-upload.

So sorry that I am just replying now! I tried to clear the browser cache, but didnt solve the problem for the client. I am going there tomorrow to test directly on their computer.

What I noticed is that the problem with re-ordering happens only with custom post types, i.e. if the plugin is activated I cannot order anymore the custom post types manually by date. Yet, if I deactivate it, I can order also by published date.

With the normal posts I can still order manually by date even if the plugin is activated.

I wonder whether the Advanced Plugin could solve this problem with custom post types?

This should be caused by a conflict with another coder, a JavaScript / PHP error, i suggest to identify that by de-activating the plugins one by one.
Regarding the order, you should turn off the Autosort then use the ‘orderby’ => ‘menu_order’ within queries where custom order need to apply.

The Advanced Post Types Order plugin contain a different code, probably it will fix the issue for you as it can manage different scenarios which the free plugin can’t. But if that does not happen, you can always get free support for it, a coder will check into your site to find the exact issue and fix it.

Thanks again for your support. I just came back from the client and we de-activated the plugin for now. I cannot do more testing on their computers and on mine everything worked fine, so it is difficult to continue, but thank you and I will close the topic then.

Just one thing I realised on the client’s computer which might be helpful in any way: If I am logged in as SuperAdmin the Re-Order shows up and works perfectly (in Firefox). Yet, if I am logged in (just) as Editor the Re-Order screen doesnt show up (again in Firefox) and as you mentioned in your first reply, the text “Thank you for creating with WordPress” at the bottom of the screen also does not appear. Maybe it is really just a little thing in the PHP code…

Anyway, thanks again for all your support!
