• Hello,

I have a problem with drag and dropping widgets in the admin panel. I can drag them only on the top half of my screen. As soon as I scroll down a little I can’t drop the widget in between other widgets.

I’ve got 100+ widgets on my sidebar, they are all connected to a certain page with the plugin ‘widget logic’.

I’ve tried to disable all plugins, didn’t help.
I’ve tried other themes, didn’t help.
I’ve tried reinstalling WordPress, didn’t help.
I’ve tried searching for Javascript errors through Firebug, didn’t help.

I’m a bit lost with this problem, any ideas?

  • 100+ widgets? Don’t you think that’s a little excessive?

Have you tried separate browsers? Disabling browser extensions? Checking for js errors etc?

    Hey,

Thanks for your reply. I’ve got 100+ widgets because every widget is connected to one single page. So I don’t have 100 widgets one page ??

I’ve tried diffrent browsers, diffrent computers, that didn’t help. Whats the best way to check for javascript errors? I’ve tried with firebug but nothing came up.

haha, I was going to say that is a lot of widgets!

The best way to check for js errors is to check the develoepr console. Right clicking, and selecting ‘Inspect Element’ should bring up the developer console. Inside of the ‘Console’ tab of the developer console should indicate any js errors.

Are you using any plugins to do anything fancy with the widgets?

The only thing I use is Widget Logic, but i’ve been using that for a longer time without any problems. When I disable it the problem still occurs.

Maybe your server is just being overloaded due to the number of widgets you have being displayed. Maybe your host has started throttling you after seeing some sort of spike in resource usage.

    What theme are you using?
