Drag & Drop Template Tag/Widget Breaks design

    I installed my customized wordpress template and began making adjustments.

    I couldn’t find the appropriate template tag for a sidebar item I wanted so I used the Dashboards drag and drop feature.

    After using this feature, the styling got all screwed up and it added margins or paddings somehow overwriting my custom stylesheet.

    Obviously this screwed up my spacing and overall look so I tried removing them and simply reinstalling my sidebar.php template but it still has the newly embedded margins or paddings that Dashboard added.

    So before I completely tear down my wordpress theme and recreate the database with a fresh install, does anyone know where dashboard writes these changes to so I can attempt to roll back my layout?

    Everything I looked at after the dashboard screw up didn’t show a modified date so I couldn’t pin it down. Is this written in the database?

    Any help would be great!

    Disregard post. I discovered the solution. The dashboard -> presentation -> widget feature isn’t exactle intuitive but for anyone wondering about this issue, you have to completely remove all widgets from the drag/drop bar to restore to default.

    Once you’ve cleared everything it will say:

    Your theme will display its usual sidebar when this box is empty…

    So keep in mind when using this feature, if you have a customized template and use this feature, it WILL ammend code and replace certain classes.

    Not true. I installed 2.3.2 from scratch, used NO plug-ins and the default theme – still have the problem.
