draft dates and editing in 1.5a6

  • I like being able to see all the drafts that others have abandoned or otherwise left hanging around, but is there a way to see what date it was originally created on, or will this be a possible option in the official 1.5 release?

    Opening it up to edit it always shows the current timestamp, which is not helpful. I can make a guess as to when it was left by it’s post number, but it’d be nicer just to have the original timestamp come up, and give you the option to make it a current date.

    currently using the 2004-12-23 cvs.

    I should mention that I have a lot of drafts hanging around. There are about 40 active contributors to the site, and at one point I had nearly 60 drafts just hanging around.

    I wanted to clean them up, but there was no easy way of telling how old they were, nor (for the ones without titles) for me to tell if they had been updated/replaced and posted or if they were truly abandoned drafts.

    My reason for wanting to clean them up is that the spammers had started adding comments to them, even though they weren’t live posts. I’ve since added the Bot-Check plugin, which seems to have stomped the spam so far, but that was still an annoying discovery, having drafts get comment spam.

    I have a couple drafts that should’nt even be drafts. They are blank and I don’t know how they got saved as drafts.

    How do I clean them up?
