Downsizing images introduces aliasing distortion

JPEG images that get downsized seem to have the their resolution reduced by crude decimation, rather than by some more elegant technique. So, it introduces artifacts. For example, a photo of a telephone wire looks like a jaggy line.
I would have rated the plugin 5 stars except for this problem.
