Since yesterday the ability to download any uploaded files from our website is not possible anymore on any browser from any computer we tested so far. Both through the admin-page from WordPress itself as through the normal link on the web page it won’t work. The page does load but it stays blank and no download will start.

We tried to look into the FTP of the server to see if the files are still there and they luckily still are. As we recently enabled an SSL-certificate I thought it may have been related to https:// missing in front of the download-URL, however when I tried uploading one with https:// in front of it, it still failed to download.

    Download Monitor version: 4.1.0

  • Hello,

Can you please let us know if you have used any customized template for our plugin. If you are not certain, then please check inside your active theme folder if there is a subfolder named “download-monitor”.

Also, please go to the “Settings > Permalinks” menu, click on “save” button and test again.

    Dear Harish,

Thank you kindly for your response. Within the folder of our used theme I am unable to find a download-monitor subfolder, neither is there any reference to download-monitor in the functions.php.

I have both re-saved the “Settings > Permalinks” and the “Downloads > Settings”, sadly neither have fixed the issue.

    Hey Georie,

Can you please email us at “[email protected]” so we can look into it further?

I can confirm, the same issue is happening with me as well. I can’t seem to download files. It says “You do not have permission to access this download. Go to homepage”

    Hey @alterblitz,

Please create a new support topic or email us at “[email protected]”.
