• Hi,
My website, https://www.joelestingi.com, is a family history website that will include images of many family members. The images will be properly sized for viewing on the website. Since some of the images have never been seen by some of the family members, they may be interested in downloading high resolution images so they can print them for framing.
What is the best way for doing this in WordPress?
    Thank you.
    Joe

  • 1. Upload the full, high-res image via the image uploader when you are creating a post or page.
    2. When you insert the image into the content area.. be sure to select one of the thumbnail sizes. This will auto-resize your image.. and display it in your content area.
    3. I believe there is also an option to ‘link to original image’ when you insert the image.

Then, when a visitor clicks one of the thumbnail images… they will see the full, high-res image… where they may right-click and choose to ‘save to computer’.

Alternatively.. you could include a hyperlink below each image… something that says “Download Hi-Res Image” or something like that. Then, in the hyperlink, you would link to the full, high-res image location on your server.
