• Hi. I used Use Any Font plugin to install the Buffalo font. I used it in 1 Header element on the Cover block.

All plugins are up to date, WordPress is up to date 6.5.2, and I am using the Twenty Twenty Four theme which is at 1.0.

When I update the theme to 1.1, the Buffalo font is no longer assigned to the Cover Header element mentioned above. And the Buffalo font is no longer available on the font dropdown.

In that plugin, I still see the added Buffalo font.

So there is a conflict with the theme update that wipes out the connection between the font that plugin and the theme itself.

I have now restored my site to the theme 1.0 version so the “Connecting Talent To Opportunity” heading displays in the Buffalo font (looks like fancy cursive writing).

    1. Is this a bug in the plugin or the theme?
    2. Is there anything you can do to fix this?
    3. Can a fix be made such that it will not break again in the next theme release?

    Thank you

Hi @flatword – thanks for explaining the situation. It does sound like it is a conflict between the theme and the plugin.

As Twenty Twenty Four is a default theme for all of WordPress – it is up to the plugin developers to maintain compatibility. I’d recommend reaching out to the developer of the plugin to ask their assistance.

It’s also worth noting that part of the core functionality of WordPress 6.5 allows you to manage fonts natively – so you may not need that plugin at all.

@jordesign Thank you for your brilliant reply! By not only providing the answer to my question, but also going an extra step to suggest a solution, you solved the problem.
You are correct in that using the new native font management within WordPress, I no longer need that plugin. And I was able to update the theme Twenty Twenty Four to version 1.1.

This will be useful in some of my other sites as well.

    So thank you again!
