  • The same file would not be counted again, the count is for unique file downloads within the time period in your setting. WP Admin -> s2Member -> Download -> Basic

    Repeated downloads of the same exact file are NOT tabulated against the totals below. Once a file has been downloaded, future downloads of the same exact file, by the same exact Member will not be counted against them. In other words, if a Member downloads the same file three times, the system only counts that as one unique download.

    So is there a way to keep track on how many time a particular file has been downloaded by users?

    For example, as you stated, if a user downloads the same file 5 times, it will count as 1 unique download. The question: Is there a way to track that the file itself was downloaded 5 times?

    Yes, just install the s2Member Secure File Browser plugin.

    So if i want to limit a file to be downloaded 5 times per user this plugin will do that?
    i cant tell from the plugin page

    No, it’s for tracking. It doesn’t add any new ability to restrict downloads.
