Allow your visitors to download PDF files with a single button click by using the?download=”yourfilename”?custom attribute.

I have applied this to a link per the instructions here https://elementor.com/help/custom-link-attributes and it still opens in a new window to preview. My attributes box looks like this .

    download | 3D_cities

Suggestions? I have also tried, download=”3D Cities” Neither work as a direct download.

    Hi there,

Can you please share a screenshot of all the settings as well?

Also can you try removing the spaces from this “download | 3D_cities”

    Try using this download|3D_cities

    Best

I tried removing the spaces as well and still did not do a direct download. Always opens in preview. This is on a staging site and on the live site the attributes say download=”true” and it works there. I tried that as well and still did not work. That would indicate to me that there may be some sort of script handling that but regardless the default should work correct?

    any update here?

We added a child theme, that is the reason for the test on the staging site. Please advise as we would like to add the child theme to the live site.
