So i started using the download plugin recently on my website. This is my first time in using this plugin. The explanation for this use of plugin looked like simple A,B,C but i come to find out that it really is very complicated.

So in the option to add file, i submitted the external link of my file which was in “Mega.nz”
When ever i click on this download link on the post, it doesn’t work at all..

And also you will see part of the link hanging out of the CS code, unless i add the “/” by the end of the link via add file section.
I have also tried this with the upload file and browse file options Below, but yet i encouter the same issues.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hey @clefpascal ,

Could you please go to dashboard Settings > Permalinks and click save without changing anything and see if it works afterwards?

    Kind Regards!

It seems to have solved the issue.
But in the download page, is it possible to indicate a count down or sort, and also will this solution work for external links like “Mega.nz” download file link.
    Or any other external link.

It is possible to display a download count using one of our templates or using a custom template ( you can see our docs for templates and custom templates here https://www.download-monitor.com/kb/overriding-content-templates/ ).

Regarding the mega.nz question, currently our plugin is not compatible with it, although we offer 2 different alternatives for external hosting: Google Drive and Amazon S3 ( can see them here https://www.download-monitor.com/extensions/ )

    Hope this helps.
    Kind regards!

Okay so, the conclusions is that the downloadable content must be available on my website? Or i use The google drive extension?

also how can i serve downloads from other external links other than google drive or Amazon, or does the Plugin not support that too?

It should work to serve downloads from other external links other than the ones my colleague mentioned. For example, dropbox URLs work fine.

    Warmly,
