Download link doesn&#8217;t show up

In your WooCommerce site, does the order show as Completed (or Processing), or is it still set to Pending?

The order (just tried it again) says “completed” but again, he gets redirected to the same page giving him the option to buy it again.

For some reason, he doesn’t get redirected to the download page/link

He and I do receive a payment confirmation; the order is set to completed but the redirect/return from (!) Paypal doesn’t redirect to a download area/page/link.

Hello @chrissmit ,

I understand this can be annoying.

Once the order is completed the customer should get a thank you page where he will get the download link. Also, a confirmation email with download links should be sent to the customer.

To understand the issue better, can you please mention which Paypal checkout gateway you are using?

You can also share your WooCommerce configuration status from wp-admin > WooCommerce > Status page use the button marked in this screenshot, then use the copy for support button.

Ok, thank you for your reply.

Things have been developing a bit here (party to my mistake)
This is the current situation:
There are 3 downloadable products:
1. https://culturematters.com/product/doing-business-in-the-usa-full-webinar/
2. https://culturematters.com/product/doing-business-in-the-usa-audio-version-only/
3. https://culturematters.com/product/culture-matters-cheat-sheet-your-international-companion/

Number 1 & 3 seem to work ok.

Except number 2 gives problems:
My colleague tried 2 email addresses:
[email protected] did NOT receive nor email not confirmation.
e-mail, [email protected] DID receive an email confirmation including the/a download link.

What am I missing here?

Well, this is interesting.

First of all, makes sure the product has the downloadable item added on the product edit section.

After the order is placed check the WooCommerce > Orders section and see if the order status is completed. From the order edit page use the Order actions options to send a notification to the customer again.

You can also install an Email logging plugin to see if the order emails are triggered properly or not. Though it’s rare, you can contact your hosting provider to know if their Firewall is blocking any emails from your site.

Finally, if none of the above gives any positive feedback, you can create a new downloadable product and hopefully, there will be no more issues.

Hi,

Thanks for your previous help!
I don’t have that many orders/downloads (yet) so I’m going to leave it as it is for now.

I did check my settings for that specific product and the fact that my “tester” received a confirmation email (with download link) on one email address and not on the other is weird (he did check all other folders/(spam)boxes).

Just for the sake of it, I’ve copy-pasted the “copy for support” info below. Maybe you can see something in there.

It is unlikely that WooCommerce will send emails to one user and not the others.

I will recommend you to keep an Email logging plugin to see if the emails are triggered or not.

Then you can follow up on the steps I mentioned above.

I hope there will be no other issues.
