• I downloaded Alaska theme and installed it. When installing the plugins that come with, either by bulk action or individually, I get:

Download failed. cURL error 28: connect() timed out!

Specifically for Alaska core, Revolution Slider and Visual Composer. I managed to upload the first one manually from the .zip file, but the others I could not come around to doing so. This problem specifically affects these 3 plugins, as I managed to install others such as Contact Form 7 and WP Retina 2x.

I got in contact with my hosting tech support rep as I read in some forums it might be a hosting issue, but they told me after a long wait that it was not a problem steming from the host or its firewall. I tried accesing it through other browsers and the issue persisted, and got in contact with the theme provider with no solution (as it is not their responsibility) and with the theme developer, with no response so far.

As I specifically purchased this theme because of its user friendly and easy set up, I need to resolve this issue in order to set up my website. I′d appreciate any help.

Try switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Seventeen.). Do you get the same error?

When in default theme I don′t get the plugins available in the plugin section. Only when Alaska is activated do I get the option to install them, in a message that reads:

This theme requires the following plugin: Alaska Core.
This theme recommends the following plugins: Revolution Slider, Visual Composer Plugin and oAuth Twitter Feed.
The following recommended plugins are currently inactive: Contact Form 7 and WP Retina 2x.
