• Hi,
I’m using this plugin to get my podcast stats but when it is activated, the original Seriously Simple Podcasting direct download button does not work properly and it opens the audio file in a new window, instead of running the direct download. I think it is related to the loss of ‘ref=download’ in the URL provided by Podtrac. Is there any way to fix this?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Both,

So sorry in the delayed reply @legendany, For some unknown reason I only had an email when @tb2020 replied.

    To answer your questions:

To @legendany, Please could you show me on what your referring to? I use the stats addon for Seriously Simple Podcasting and don’t see a direct download link. Or are you referring to once you made your page?

What I could consider is adding another option to add “ref=download” to your links perhaps? I shall have a look at the Seriously Simple Podcasting docs to see if I can spot something.

To @tb2020, I using “HTTPS: https://dts.podtrac.com/redirect.mp3/ ” along with the tick for “Enable Blubrry Stats Service” and this does track with HTTPS.

I Feel like I should split ouit podtrac and blubrry stats so you can get a choice on what you want to use? what do you think?

And again, thank you so much for using my plugin! I honestly didn’t know anyone was using it but tried to make sure it worked on latest WP releases ??

I appreciate your plugin. Thank you for your time. SSP now allows you to choose what is displayed under the player. One of the options is a direct download link which adds the “ref=download” in order to download. But enabling your plugin seems to remove the “ref=download” from the link which in turn opens a new tab and plays the file which is not correct.

Splitting blubrry and podtrac would be great. I don’t know why the https seems not to be added for blubrry for me. When I enable blubrry I noticed that it does not add the https and some podcast like stitcher was given me a security error and I noticed the path did not include the https like podtrac did. Enabling blubrry seems to break my feeds for some players. not sure if that is the reason…again thanks for your hard work!

@tb2020 & @legendany I have pushed an update to preserve the “ref=download” in the URL.

Also added an HTTP and HTTPS option for blubrry too.

let me know if you have any issues.
