• Hi there,

We are using your plugin on our site and it works perfectly for our need it’s just that when I try to download the uploaded file from the admin dashboard it doesn’t work and nothing happens. No error message even when debug is enabled. the console log is showing an error “Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403” pointing to wpu_file_downloader.php

any help will be much appreciated. Hope to hear from you soon

    Thanks

Hi, this error implies that a security setting in your web server is blocking wfu_file_downloader.php.

Do you have ModSecurity installed in your web server?

@nickboss thanks for your reply. NO modsecurity is not installed.

Please note that this is not a WordPress plugin. It is a Web Application Firewall, usually installed by hosting providers to the web server as a module.

If this is not the case, do you have access to the error logs of your web server?

I am well aware of what ModSecurity is. Thank you.

You can download the log from the link below.

I see this log contains entries after 2021/05/12 00:20:23. Had you tried to download a file after that time? I do not see anything relevant.

Yes, I tried to download a file number of times before I downloaded the log.

Do you have any security plugins installed in your website? or, are you using Cloudflare service?

No, I’ve already tried to disable all the plugins and isolate your plugin (WP Upload) and problem still persists so that tells me that the issue in not within my installation.

We are using cloudflare yes. Can you be specific on what settings could be blocking it?

What is the security level configured in Cloudflare for your website?

Security level is only set to medium

Hi, is there a way I can try to download myself?

If you can give me your email address I can give you admin access to my site.

It sounds that you do not have any idea how to resolve this issue. And your response time is very slow. its been more than 2 weeks and I’m still no where near any solution. I know that I am using a free version of your plugin right now but having a crappy support from you guys will never convince me to get a paid version of your plugin.

Hi, I apologize for the late reply. It is a very hectic period.

My email address is [email protected]. We can continue troubleshooting if you want.
