I have a website with embedded video for members only to download.

I recently noticed the download log was not recording any new downloads. When I attempted to download a video to test the log I noticed that the download button leads me to another full-screen page with the video. This page also has a download link but that link will not trigger a download log record.

How can I ensure that the download button simply prompts the file to download and triggers a recording of the download instead of leading to a new page where the download log can be circumvented.

    Thank you in advance =)

Is the plugin setting “Allow single-click download link for videos.” enabled? Are you using my file download logger that I haven’t thought about in 4 years? If you need more troubleshooting help you might need to create an account for me on your website. You can send the info to my email address [email protected]

Thank you for the quick response, I do have “allow single-click download” enabled but only recently started encountering this problem. I went ahead and sent you an e-mail with more information and account information to check on it.

    Thanks again!

This issue was caused by another plugin and has since been resolved. My issue was caused by the Yoast SEO plugin. Under SEO>Search Appearance>Media there is an option to “direct attachment URLs to the attachment itself” which was causing the attachment to open in the browser instead of prompting a download.

PS: Props to Kyle for his lightning fast response and offers of assistance.
