Download button doesn’t trigger download

    Hi!
    First of all big congrats for this great plugin!

    I’ve noticed that the download button doesn’t trigger the direct file download. Instead it opens the audio file link in a new tab.
    I would swear it didn’t work that way a few months ago, but I don’t know if this is due to a change in the plugin or a misconfiguration.

    Any guidance in the right direction to solve it would be highly appreciated.

    Hi @legendany,

    Are you still experiencing this problem? I am able to download the file directly as opposed to it opening in a new window.

    Hi,
    Thanks for getting back to me.
    The issue was caused by the “Add Podtrac Analytics for Seriously Simple Podcasting” plugin, I think it changes the file URL and deletes the ref=download.
    I tried to reach them but got no answer so far. Now it works because I disabled the plugin. I don’t know if there’s another way to get stats, since the Seriously Simple Stats plugin overloads the database of my web and causes error 500, because of the number of podcasts we have on our web (+25.000).

    Any help on this would be highly appreciated.

    We’ll take a look at this and see if it’s anything we can correct for users using tracking prefixes. Users can still download the episode by clicking the three dots within the media player that opens in the browser and selecting Download.
