Yesterday I wanted to create a site backup before upgrading to WordPress 5.6. In Admin, I selected the most recent scheduled/completed backup. Then clicked “Database” to download that file. Nothing happened. Normally, a rectangle appears above the backups list, containing links like “Download to your computer” and “Delete from your web server.”

I tried Ctrl+F5 force refresh, and clearing the cache; no luck. I tried going into another Admin tab and returning to UpdraftPlus, but the Database button still dead. I opened the Chrome web tools F12 to see if there were any JavaScript errors; nope.

Finally decided to go ahead and upgrade to 5.6, since there are other ways to download a backup file. By the time I came back about 15m later, the buttons were working normally.

But I’d like to know why that Database button was dead? Or at least how to diagnose in the future?

    Hi,

Can you try to temporarily deactivate all the other plugins and see if you still get the same issue? It is possible that one of the plugins is causing conflict.

    Best Wishes,

To do that, I will have to wait until the behavior happens again.
