Download always fails

  • Hello, there,
    I tried to download my backup from the tab designed for it… but it fails after downloading 1/3 of the whole 1.1 GB zip file.. everytime!
    What to do then? I believe I need it as a zip format. The Tar GZip file also fails after downloading 1/3…

    I looked at the browser console, stating:

    The connection to https://www.chiropratique-france.net/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=download_backup_file&destination=FOLDER&jobid=2&file=/home/chiropraa/www/wp-content/uploads/backwpup-7a8a32-backups/2021-01-29_17-18-45_FR5IUMVH02.zip&local_file=/home/chiropraa/www/wp-content/uploads/backwpup-7a8a32-temp/2021-01-29_17-18-45_FR5IUMVH02.zip&backwpup_action_nonce=6048128f9a was interrupted while the page was loading.

    Hi @roro111,

    We have seen this issue in some instances with the Chrome browser.
    Can you please try the download with a different browser like Firefox or Edge?

    If all else fails you can also download the backup via FTP. If you used the default directory, the backup should be located in /wp-content/uploads/backwpup-7a8a32-backups/

    I only managed to go thru https://FTP..
    All browsers failed!

    Additional Info: I’ve the same problem. Neither with Firefox nor Edge the downloads ends correct. My file is about 8 GB, the download shows about 3 GB without any errors, but it isn’t really the completed file. I tried at different times in morning, evening and nigth.
    With ftp the download seems working correct, the file size is identical.

    And another experience: If I want to create the backup with BackWPup directly ‘backup to ftp’ server, I have to change the settings for serverload from ‘medium’ to ‘deactivate’. Otherwise the job runs in an neverending loop while the job tries to upload and pauses every 23 seconds.
