Sorry, but no. That’s the catch with Relevanssi Light: there’s no control over the results. They are what they are. Your database server ranks them using the fulltext algorithm. It’s not the first result even when I search with the whole title.

My guess is that it’s a shorter article, so there are fewer keyword matches, but that’s just a guess.

You can find the modified search query with Query Monitor and then can run it directly against your database. The query will include a relevance column which will show you the relevance scores for each post found. It will show you how the posts are ranked, exactly, but that’s about it – you can’t change the scores, just observe them. That’s the downside of Relevanssi Light –?it’s quite fast because the database server does all the work, but you lose all control because the database server does all the work.

    I see, @msaari

But the way it works is still quite weird for me.

In this other example, for instance: https://macmagazine.com.br/?s=withings+balan%C3%A7a

The first post in the results (this one) doesn’t even have the word “balan?a” anywhere in it!

Does the fulltext algorithm work with OR between terms, not AND?

Well, it looks like an OR search. I tried looking at the documentation to see whether that’s the case, but it’s not explicitly mentioned. But I assume that’s the case.

I can’t say much about the search; it’s a black box to me as well.

Yeah, that would explain why I feel the results aren’t so good — especially the order in which they appear. Thanks again.
