Doubt product variation

    Hello there,

    In the store I want to do, there are two ways to order a product, choosing the size or choosing a size request (in case the desired sizes are no longer available).

    So I want a variation that is ‘Size’, to choose for example: S, M, L
    and ‘preorder Size’, to choose for example: XS, S, M, L, XL.

    The fact is that if you select Size, you no longer have to select preorder and the same happens if you request a size with preorder, that you no longer have to select the size, how can I do this functionality?

    That is, you should not select the two variations, or one or the other.

    I had thought of creating the same variation with two categories (and thus dividing the view in the product) but I think that it cannot be done … and I can not think of anything else.

    Hi @marpegue,

    It sounds like you want a situation where customers can place a backorder for products that are not currently in stock.

    The approach you’re currently considering will not help you to achieve what you’re looking for.

    Instead, you want to know backorders for your variations. It’s probably best to notify customers that the products are on backorder so that you can set reasonable expectations for deliveries

    Bear in mind that this will allow your stock count for back-ordered products to go into the negative.
