    Hi,

Just trying to track a click as an event. I’ve already got Google Analytics running on the site and the only way I can this button click to track is to select the following:

    Google Analytics code
    Don’t add – unticked
    Universal – ticked
    RESULT: Double tracks the event

    So I tried:

    Don’t add – ticked
    Universal – ticked
    RESULT: Doesn’t track at all

    Don’t add – ticked
    Universal – unticked
    RESULT: Doesn’t track at all

    Don’t add – unticked
    Universal – unticked
    RESULT: Doesn’t track at all

    Any ideas?!

    Thanks!

    Hi @resonance_

Can you please post a link to a page where this happens?
I may be able to catch it live.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

Thank for getting back to me! Yeah sure it is:

    https://www.yourofficeanywhere.co.uk/hosted-desktop-remote-desktop/

At the moment it is set as:

GA identifier – with UA number
Don’t add the GA tracking code – unticked
    Universal tracking code – ticked
    IP Anonymization – unticked
    Advanced Mode – unticked

Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you!

    Hi @resonance_

I can see that you are tracking the wpcf7-form-control class. This triggers an event even when people click the input fields. Was this your intention? If not, then it may explain the number of events.
To track only when someone clicks the submit button, try changing the class to – wpcf7-submit

    best regards,

    Yuval

Great, let me know if there is anything else I can do.

I have the same issue. I have GA on the site and when I am using GA with your plugin its two times in tag manager. I tried to disbale with your plugin but than the events are not tracking. https://webjuice.ie/contact/

Another issue. I can track events but they are not importing into Goals and after not in Adwords Conversion.

So I can track Events but not goals.
    See screenshots:

I am doing something wrong but cant find out. Thanks for help.

    Hi @lew1s,

Your page includes the GA code snippet twice which is causing the duplicated tracking.
I’m not sure, but the second code snippet is the old GA code, so if you check the “don’t include the GA code snippet” box, you will also have to uncheck the Universal Tracking for it to work.

Google Tag manager uses events differently and not supported at the moment.

As for the contact form, I do see an event going out to Google Analytics. Can you try to uncheck the Universal Tracking box and try again?

    Yuval

    Thanks for reply.
This is not working. If I check “Don’t add the GA tracking code” and uncheck “Universal Tracking Code”. Its not tracking at all any event.

If I Uncheck “Don’t add the GA tracking code” and check “Universal Tracking Code” its tracking the event.
Really weird. Can you please check. thank you
