    Hi,

Thanks for the feedback. We’re also using progress tracker to add LMS functionality to our themes. What you’re seein is actually intended functionality. By default you get two sets of buttons, on top and beneath the page content. Because you don’t have any content it just looks strange.
However, in the tools > progress tracker settings you can have the buttons only appear on the top or bottom of the page. So that should do what you need.
We usually have them top and bottom though as it looks better with a page of content.

Thank you Alex. That makes sense. I’ll take a look at that again.

Also a few questions – can I change the text styling or the buttons themselves? I assume this is editable?

And more importantly do you have any plans to institute an automatic progress tracking system that doesn’t require one to click the “complete button”?

One last idea on UX tangent: It’s also my feeling any graphic showing progress should be variations of green all the way through – not red, yellow or orange and then changing to green. Red is too negative.

I’ve seen a lot of LMS systems and those that show progress always have a graphic that shows the steps and what is completed is usually in green.

There are many examples out there but here’s one from Litmos.

Here they have uncompleted in blue.

    Thank you

    Hi,
I like the colour suggestions – its probably best to give them options as to the three colours via the settings page. That way they can have all blue, all blue and yellow or the standard red / yellow green.
The next release (coming today) will allow the text change of the ‘Click here to start’ but doesn’t have much in the way of styling. Some simple CSS tweaks should be able to target the buttons though, and shortly I’ll be adding font awesome icons as well as images to the progression options which can be targeted with a colour.
I don’t have any plans to do an “auto mark as complete” – do you think this is a requirement? If so it should be pretty simple to do, as long as I can make it clear how that functionality works.

    Hi Alex.

Looking forward to the updates. This is truly a plugin worth developing. I appreciate your effort.

I was thinking again about this automatic page completion idea. I’m not sure to be honest how this would work. I think the “mark as complete” button is typical for a reason. I guess for a second there I thought if someone just clicked the next button that could trigger an auto mark but then a drawback is it takes the user out of the complete process, if that makes sense.

Anyway, I’m also looking at the full-featured LMS plugins though wary of price at this point. Have you seen this LearnDash demo? https://demo.learndash.com/

They have pretty awesome progress tracking going on. Perhaps if you look at that you might get some ideas.

Anyway, looking forward to trying to work some more with your plugin.

    Thanks,
    M
