• I just installed this plugin and I’m having a problem where there is a double instance of any product I add to a post. I paste the Amazon link in the editor, and it creates the embed — everything looks fine in the editor.

But then after publishing, on the public side of the site, there are two instances of the product (while the editor still only shows one). I have no auto-inserts setup. Converter is off. I’ve looked through the settings and I can’t figure out what could be causing this. If I delete the one instance of the embed in the editor, both instances of the product disappear from the public post.

    Wordpress 5.3.2 with Hueman theme.

    Hi,

Is this the theme you use? I tested with that theme and only a single instance is embedded by just pasting a URL.

It could be a plugin conflict.

Can you temporarily switch to the default theme and see if the same problem occurs? If it does, it is most likely a conflict with other plugins.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks for the quick reply. I tried the default Twenty Nineteen theme, and still had the same issue.

So I started deactivating my plugins, one by one, until only your plugin was left. It’s still doing it. I even disabled Akisment and WP Super Cache. No change.

I have had issues before where some plugins cause problems even when they’re deactivated, but I really don’t want to start deleting my plugins and lose their settings when I don’t even know which one it might be.

I don’t know if this helps but when I inspect the rendered elements, both of them are inside a single embed wrapper and div.amazon-auto-links HTML elements.

Ah, I see. The picture helped. Thank you for posting it.

They are variation products with the same product title and different ASINs.

If the pasted URL contains multiple ASINs, then they will be all displayed. This behavior is supported for some templates that aim to display multiple products such as Carousel.

As a workaround, when you paste a URL, can you cut off the URL after the ? character? Sorry for the inconvenience! If it is too troublesome, let me know. I may be able to add an option to only display a single product.
