Hi, with the newest updates this fine PAID plugin
    – still seems to work

BUT i have 2 order numbers for one order.
On the invoices – there are shown 2 order numbers which do not correspond.

First one is the correct one
    – suppose created by this plugin

the second one is something random
    – suppose created by original Woocommerce.

Could Woocommerce PLEASE finally acknowledge the law in EU and just add this functionality to the BASIC Woocommerce plugin? That would be swell.

  • Hi @dubiousa,

Thanks for reaching out to us. If you need support with our paid Sequential Order Numbers Pro plugin, I’d encourage you to contact us directly through your WooCommerce.com account:

    https://woocommerce.com/my-account/create-a-ticket/

As to the free version of the plugin and the differences in order numbers, this is because the way WordPress creates posts (and orders are a type of post) and numbers them in a very specific fashion. Since WooCommerce uses this post system for its orders, the default order numbers are the post ID numbers, which rely on the WordPress method of numbering them.

What both the free and paid Sequential Order Numbers plugins do is add a formatted order number to replace the order number that is normally drawn from the post ID. This is a cosmetic change only, as we don’t interfere with the post creation process that comes from WordPress and WooCommerce.

I hope that helps to clarify things here.

As to the law in the EU, would you have a resource I can take a look at to see what you’re referring to? I’ll be happy to pass any information on to my product team to see if we can make things easier for our EU customers.

Thanks so much for any added information!

    Julie ??
