Double display of user biography in profile

    I’m sure the answer is simple but I’ve gone round and round in circles.
    The user bio (which is a standard field in WordPress user registration and seems to correspond to the user description in UM (meta?) ) appears twice, both in the profile header and immediately underneath above the about/posts bar. The second instance is editable if you click the gears icon.

    I’ve tried checking and unchecking all the options that seem relevant but can’t remove the second one. I can’t test this on the live site yet so it’s on a local server only (the link won’t work!).

    (The users I tested were already registered on the site with WP so not sure if this is the cause?)

    Could you please provide a screenshot?

    Have you tried turning off the Bio in the Profile Header? Please go to WP Admin > Ultimate Member > Forms > Edit the Profile Form > See “Customize this form” > Yes to “Apply custom settings” > See “Show user description in profile header” > Turn it off by changing the selected option to “No”.

    This is what I see logged in:

    I can indeed turn off the second instance using the menu you suggested – thanks for that – but after that, it is not possible to edit the description; no input box is available when you click the gear icon.

    OK – I found the answer eventually. I need to leave ‘Show user description in profile header’ set to yes, but remove the biography user meta from the profile form, even though it says to select it to show it under the header. That gives me one editable biography field – result!
    Got there in the end…
