I have a classifieds site, adsler.co.uk, and users email each other about products to enquire, buy or sell.
When they do their actual email address are revealed in their off-site inboxes.
So if a user, Susan, goes on the site, finds something she likes, she emails the seller, Mike. Mike gets the email but he can see Susan’s email address in the from field, and Susan doesn’t want this.
I would like these email addresses displayed in code so that when Susan emails about a product, Mike can’t see her email address but just sees ‘Susan from Adsler has send you an email’, along with a code where Susan’s email address normally is.
Clicking on reply, instead of Susan’s email in the ‘to’ field, a code is. So Mike replies to Susan.
Susan receives Mike’s reply, but, instead of showing Mike’s actual email in the from field, a code is displayed instead.
So no one ever gets to know each others actual email.
