Every time I long into my WP admin dashboard for this site, I get two [Wordfence Alert] emails telling me that “a user . . . (me) . . . who has administrator access signed in to your WordPress site.” Why the double notifications? Is there a way I can fix this?

    Thanks!

    Hi @ln-cwm,

Double-emails in this scenario don’t come up often so it’s likely to be something to do with how mails are sent from your server, or possibly caching. I would try the following:

    • Clear/purge any caches you have on your server or WordPress caching plugins.
    • Restart postfix or sendmail (whichever is installed on your server) could fix any issues where it’s become stuck, or is duplicating your queue. You should be able to do this from your hosting provider’s control panel.
    • If you have a third party plugin for sending emails with another service, like Gmail, it could be triggering twice when we send alerts. Reaching out to the plugin author for support can help, but again there may be logs or history within the plugin that can help you figure out what’s going wrong yourself.

Naturally, if you don’t wish to receive these alerts at all, you can disable “Alert me when someone with administrator access signs in” and/or “Only alert me when that administrator signs in from a new device or location” in Wordfence > All Options > Email Alert Preferences. You could also try temporarily disabling these, saving changes, then reenabling the one(s) you want to see if that has any effect on the triggering of the emails.

    Many thanks,
    Peter.

Thanks, @wfpeter, for your on-target and helpful response. Your first suggesting fixed my problem right off the bat. Just deleted my WP Super Cache. Brilliant!
