• I have WordPress installed with a fantastic premium theme; however – when I’m attempting to upload an image to accompany a new Post, I receive the following error message:

Unable to create directory E:\CustomerData\webspaces\webspace_xxxxxxxx\wwwroot\v2.neruffnecks.org/wp-content/uploads/2008/07. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

I have created a folder called “uploads” within /wp-content/ on the server, and changed its permissions to 777. Still won’t let me upload any images for the story.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. You can see the site (albeit empty) at v2.neruffnecks.org – that area to the top left should have an image under that transparent background.

  • You also need to change the permissions to 777 for /wp-content – at least the 1st time – after that you may can change back to 755.

HI, I have absolutelly same problem. But after I done that you wrote “samboll” I saw only empty border, no image in post.

I’ve had the same issue with uploading images and I keep seeing that I have to change the permissions to the wp-content folder, but for the life of me I can’t figure out how. I try with my ftp client (cyberduck) to right click and select info (like I can do for most other folders there) but when I try for the wp-content folder, nothing happens. It won’t even bring up the info box.
    Any ideas?

    ~Becca
