Dooodl 2
-
How is Dooodl 2.0 going? It would be great if it had more paint tools and users could vote for their favourite Dooodls.

Sorry for not getting back at you earlier (I just checked out the support forums and noticed your message. I remembered seeing it a while ago and telling myself I should post an update here soon. Of course I totally forgot about that.)
I have a lot of feature requests about favorites etc. I need to check out where the priorities are for most users. I might look into favorites/likes/stars soon. But I can’t promise these kind of features until I have actually committed to building them.
I just want to let you know that I have just pushed Dooodl V2. Let me know if you like it ??
Thanks very much. I tried to activate it on a test site and got the following: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected end of file in /var/www/web/wp-content/plugins/dooodl/includes/handlers.php on line 386
There are loads of plugins it could be conflicting with however.
That’s a rather strange error… Looks like a file is only partially there. Clearly not a conflict from that error message.
Can you send me the version number of the plugin you have currently installed?
I just updated the plugin to 2.0.2. It’s running fine on my blog at the time of writing. Let me know if you’re still seeing this error message. If you are, please find the code on said line (see error message) and send it to me.
Alternatively: I suggest re-installing the plugin. It might be a case of a badly downloaded file.
Hi, just updated, the changelog didn’t suggest such a major change, database migration etc.
Currently I’m trying to restore my whole website because it has crashed to the point where I visit it and it tries to install WordPress…
A heads up in the changelog about the migration would be nice because if I knew I wouldn’t have updated in the first place.
Hi,
Could you send me a dump of your database? Because the problems you suggest seem fairly unrelated to the problems you seem to be having. The migration systems reads rows from a dooodl-only table and inserts them as posts into the posts-table using WP-core functions.
Even when the migration stops halfway through, the database is never locked (seen as the database is only read from).
The point where it asks you to install WP suggests that the wp-config.php file has been removed. This seems unlikely as physical files are never removed outside the plugin folder.
Please send me some info as to what the situation was on your server so I can investigate whether this was the result of a plugin-bug or some other interference.
Thanks. There is no code on line 386. It is blank. I also tried to activate the plugin on another site which resulted in the same error.
Could you send me the URL to your sites? I’ll see what I can find.
Do you have a phpinfo.php file somewhere so I can check your serversettings?Sorry this time it said line 387 had error and it has ?>
I have used your website contact form with site information.
Thanks
The site I’m using your plugin on is https://steamunpowered.eu
The migration process completed (100%) and said it didn’t work out and asked me to check out errors in my browser’s console. Which I did (Chrome) and didn’t see anything on there.
WordPress version is latest, I’m using Doodle for a couple of years now. What do I need to send to you in order to get it working?
I’ve rolled back to a backup I’ve had and everything works fine.
you can send me a (temp) admin login to ‘[email protected]’. I’ll let you know what I find.
I’m glad you managed to put a back up back in place.
Thanks for telling where things went wrong during the process. The code is fairly straight forward after the 100% mark (that’s where the old dooodl table (which is empty by then) get’s removed). Shouldn’t be too hard to figure out what’s tripping up.
I’ll check out the code while I wait for your email.
To both strandedpl and iroller: Could you please open seperate topics so i can keep track of your issues? Both bugs in one topic is fairly confusing ??
The problem for iroller seems to be a short-opening tag in PHP. Those have now been removed as well. version 2.0.4 has been released and should be propagating throughout the network soon.
@iroller: If you still have problems afterwards, please file a new ticket so we can keep track of this nicely.
Hi I will get back to you in 2016 ?? I have too much stuff going on right now.
ok ?? Happy holidays!
