don’t work button next and previous month
-
Hi
Don’t work button next and previous month. After push the button, the calendar stays in the current month + adds header and footer. The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]
-
Calendar version 6.0.1.1, WP version 6.0.2
I am also sporadically seeing this issue on https://whltrust.org/events/. Right now, I can’t replicate after logging in, but I am consistently seeing the issue right now on the TEC demo page: https://demo.theeventscalendar.com/events/month/
In the Dev Tools console in Safari and Firefox, I am seeing a
[Error] Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 () (html, line 0) https://demo.theeventscalendar.com/wp-json/tribe/views/v2/html
error. If you click in on it, the response is:{ "code": "rest_cookie_invalid_nonce", "message": "Cookie check failed", "data": { "status": 403 } }
Here is also a screenshot of the error: https://www.dropbox.com/s/3y4pz9r8hxwv1b8/CleanShot%202022-10-12%20at%2008.30.13%402x.jpg?dl=0
One thing I have found curious is that the links in https://whltrust.org/events/ aren’t appending a
?hide_subsequent_recurrences=1
query string but the demo is as well as one of our other sites (https://bmcedina.com/events/). Do we know what this query string is doing? Is this a known issue? This is pretty high priority on our end so any help would be appreciated, even if a workaround. ??
Thanks!

Hi @studentsmidzenis sorry to hear about this. Could you try deactivating all other plugins except for our plugins to see if that makes a difference? Moreover, could you switch to the default theme? Please read the Testing for Conflicts Article before doing anything. We’d recommend conducting these tests on a Staging Server.
Lastly, please clear any caching for both third-party plugins and server-side (if you have any).
Let us know how it goes.
Best,
AbzHm, interesting.
Hi @rtvenge, appreciate you bringing this to our attention in regard to the demo site, however, I wasn’t able to replicate the issue in both Safari and Firefox. This could also be intermittent — could you try clearing the cache or setting with both browsers? See the screenshot here → https://share.getcloudapp.com/P8u7Xbwz.
With the
?hide_subsequent_recurrences=1
parameter here. I’d get back to you on this thread.Hang in there.
Best,
AbzIt will probably be easier for me to switch to another calendar
Hi @studentsmidzenis, for us to help you better, it would be good to check if there are conflicts with other plugins or the theme on your end.
Apologies for the inconvenience.
Let us know how you would like to proceed.Best,
Abz@abzlevelup, you are correct, it surely seems to be intermittent on the Demo (also what I’m seeing on my production site). I can no longer reproduce in Safari.
I do bring up that
?hide_subsequent_recurrences=1
query parameter because when I was able to replicate the issue on the Demo site, adding that query param “fixed” the issue. Maybe you have some access to internal documentation that says why clicking the navigation appends that query parameter. From the outside looking in, its seems that the nonce isn’t valid based on the response on the 403 error from above.
I did see on the readme.txt in the Pro version, this bullet on version 5.3.0:
Fix – Filter reset pagination params to include
hide_subsequent_recurrences
to prevent pagination from failing the first time [FBAR-222]Maybe that helps.
Thanks for you continued help!
Ryan
Hi @rtvenge, it could be privacy & settings with macOS also, or just caching.
I do bring up that
?hide_subsequent_recurrences=1
query parameter because…It is supposed to hide all but the next upcoming recurring event in the list views. It is not supposed to change month or week views.
For instance on list view if you have a weekly recurring event on Thursday it would show this Thursday’s event, but not the following Thursdays.

Best,
AbzThank you @abzlevelup!
I do have a client that has a Pro license, but this site does not have one.
I was able to reproduce the issue in Safari this morning. It was not working until I clicked on the link https://whltrust.org/events/?hide_subsequent_recurrences=1 (which we put in the main navigation as a workaround). I then tried Brave browser where I was able to replicate the issue. Adding ?foo to the url also “fixed” the issue. Maybe it’s generating a new Nonce with a slightly different url.
Hi @rtvenge, thanks for confirming. Perhaps this is the correct forum for it. However, I’m not familiar with this issue, although I was able to replicate it with Safari I’d check with our devs.
I’d get back to you whenever I hear from them. Hang in there.
Best,
AbzUh, I discover that my site OWLS theme conflict with calendar ??
Hi @studentsmidzenis, sorry to hear about this. Although we are compatible with various themes, we do not provide support to themes. I’m curious, could you interchange the settings under Display → Default stylesheet used for events templates and Events template? Head over to Events → Settings → Display and try different settings for the page template.
See if that makes a difference and make sure that any template is not causing the issue.
Best,
AbzI already tried. No result
Hi @studentsmidzenis, thanks for trying it out. I would recommend reaching out to the theme developer and seeing if they do have a workaround.
Best,
Abz
