No problem!

Firstly, you need to use the shortcodes shown here to populate the notification.

Secondly, you need to then trigger the comment notification. You can do this by adding a new commment to any post. You/the post author should then receive an email notification. If you’re not, can you install the Email Log plugin and re-test. This should tell you if the email is being sent out. If it’s being sent out but you’re not receiving it, you may have to run your emails through SMTP using something like Postman SMTP Mailer instead so that you can send email using your WordPress website.

Hi Anthony,
If you tick the checkbox that says: ‘Send this notification to the Author only’ then this should be what you’re after for most notification. It will then hide the User / User Roles input. This is not available at present for New Comments / New Trackbacks / New Pingbacks. I can’t remember the reason why but for now, the only option the plugin has is to send it to a User Role, for example, a role that deals specifically with Comment Notifications.
