• I have been through every shred of info on this theme and I still can’t get it to work consistently.

  • Works for me: https://rockonthemount.com

I tested it on a few browsers.

You may want to consider your server’s capabilities.

Anyway, a great theme. Pretty easy to use.

    @adamsmark
How did you get you images up. I don’t anything about coding, but if you could offer some direction I’d appreciate it.

First, you have to load a picture, just as you would normally. But, instead of inserting it, grab the URL for the image. Then, in the custom fields, create a field named “thumb” and add the URL. Finally, hit “Add Custom Field.” Now, when you publish the post, the image will appear.

That’s pretty much what the plugin says to do. If it doesn’t work, it may be that you published, but never hit the “Add Custom Field” button. That was my problem the first time. Otherwise, I’m not sure why it wouldn’t work.

As you can see, I does work on my site, and I’m not that technically advanced.

For me, the images are not captured from the blog post. So the front page slideshow has no image, just a title of the blog post.

    ??

This was when I had used an external host for the image which is clearly visible in the blog post entry but not shown in the slideshow strangely.

I will try your fix adamsmark and post again here.

    Nope.

    Doesn’t work for me adamsmark.

I think this is because I have the latest WordPress software and this theme is now “old”.

I like what you have managed to do with the theme.

    >>> I am also unable to move the bottom list of links and rss to the empty space in right hand column.

    ??

1.4.1 uses the WP thumbnail option. It’s easy theme. I don’t get why people keep struggling with it.

what is strange on Adamsmark’s site is that when you mouse over the central imageholder, it takes you back to the initial post image(now post “take no glory…”) no matter which one is current.

This is strange and i think wrong, since most of the times you mouse over in order to click on a post. If it takes you back, then you lose the post you wanted to click and have to search it again by clicking the right or left buttons!

I hope this is not the default theme’s behavior.

The Arras theme is easily the best theme available from Wordpresc.org. There were some bugs in the older versions, but the latest version (use Google to find the arras forum), works very well. It’s one of the few themes here with free support at their forum that’s actually useful. I used it for awhile before switching to the Hybrid framework.

    @ johnravrasta
That’s a bug in the older version. Easily fixable.

adam, thanks for the info, that is exactly what I was looking for and it works perfectly. Is there another custom tag I should be using for the text overlay?

    theme working…. thanks to developer….
