I am using the “Static Front Page” plug-in from Semiologic to make the content on my front page static. I have another page called “News & Views” where I want my posts to display instead. I’ve looked at the guides on moving the WordPress Directory, but I don’t believe that’s the way I need to accomplish this. Are there any plug-ins that will let me accomplish this? Other ideas?

I have the same question. I was using Static Front Page prior to upgrading to WP2.1. One of the reasons I upgraded was that the feature list said “You can set any “page” to be the front page of your site, and put the latest posts somewhere else, making it much easier to use WordPress as a content management system.”

However, I can’t seem to find how to set “any page to be the front page of my site”, and the Static Front Page plug in doesn’t seem to be working with WP2.1.

UPDATE: NM. I found the option to set the static front page (under “Options: Reading” in case anybody else is as confused as I was). Carry on with your previous discussion, already in progress, as I slink back to my cave…

You set that on Options, Reading. I don’t use it myself, but that’s where it is.

HAHA. I couldn’t find it either. It’s very well hidden.

I have two separate WP sites, on different servers. Each has been upgraded to 2.1.2 as is showing at the bottom of the page. One has the option for making the front page static. The other has no sign of it. I have checked and re-checked. Both were uprgraded via Fantastico. Any suggestions?
