    Hi there!

    I like(d) All in one SEO and use(d) it on all my websites, but suddenly there are terrible changes with the new version. Why?!

    First of all, why are my SEO settings changed when I update to the 4.x version?!? Why have not my settings carried from 3.7 to 4.x?!?

    And second of all, WHY are you suddenly installing MonsterInsights with the latest updates without my consent?!? I don’t want MonsterInsights on my sites, I don’t need analytics in WordPress, so WHY are you pushing it without even asking if we want it?!?

    Please change this plugin update behavior immediately before I start updating other sites. FIX it NOW or risk me and many more users switching to Yoast SEO!

    Please respond ASAP!

    I have also noticed that for some reason the new version messed up my SSL settings, now that I rolled back to 3.71, at least that is fixed.

    So, why fix something that did not need fixing?! I see that the new version is breaking many websites, many users complaining.

    So, please act fast if you want to keep us!

    @dmarin,

    Thanks for reaching out and allowing us the opportunity to address these issues.

    Regarding the settings, our migration should automatically copy over all your settings into V4 and it should be exactly the same way that it was in V3. If this is not the case, it’s possible the migration did not run at all, or perhaps it was interrupted before it finished. If you can share with us some more details about which settings didn’t migrate properly, that would help us immensely as we troubleshoot.

    Regarding MonsterInsights, it is only installed in three places, the setup wizard, the Google Analytics tab in the Webmaster Tools, or from the About Us page. All of these places require user interaction in order to install MonsterInsights. Besides those places, we do not automatically install any plugin at all.

    If you have any other issues that have come up, we’d be happy to work through them with you and help troubleshoot as well.

    No, the main page title settings and some of the other “auto” page settings did not copy over when updated to 4.x version.

    As for MonsterInsights, I have never installed it myself (I know what I am doing with management of 30+ WordPress sites) … but suddenly when I clicked the GA tab to check GA code, it said that GA code is managed in MonsterInsights!?! Again, I have not installed MonsterInsights on the webpage myself!

    I did try updating AIOSEO on another site just to see what happens and this time when I updated from 3.71 to 4.0.9 it did not add MonsterInsights, so it might have been connected to ver. 4.0.7 on that other site … but still, it is pretty bad when you push something that a user does not want!

    I still hope that you can fix AIOSEO and make it easy to use and effective as 3.71 or even better. I will try testing on a couple other sites to see what happens.
