Don't want Comments on static page

Go to dashboard/pages/pages and edit that page. There should be an option to turn comments off below the editor box.

it varies with themes too, i think, as to what you see. Try changing it in Quick Edit.
Choose Pages > Pages – where you see a list of all your pages. Then choose Quikc Edit for the page, and you should see a check box to turn comments off/on
