    Hello Hustle team,

Is there a way to configure a popup so that it is not shown to first-time visitors to the site? I only want to show it to people who are coming back to the site – is there a setting or cookie trigger that I can reliably use to do this?

    Thank you

    Hey there @wzub

I believe that the “Number of times visitor has seen” visibility setting might be a good fit for you: https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/hustle/#hustle-visibility-times

Could you please give this a test and let us know if further assistance is needed? ??

    Thank you,
    Dimitris

Thanks Dimitris – I’ve tried setting the “Number of times visitor has seen” to >1 on the popup, but with this it never gets triggered even if I browse different pages and reopen the page.

Hello @wpmudev-support6, any update on this?

    Hi @wzub,

Can you provide us with an export of your popup so we could check your setup?
You can go to Hustle > Pop-ups panel, click on Gear icon next to your popup and get the export from there.
Upload it to any file sharing service like GDrive and Dropbox and share the download link here.

P.S. Please don’t bump your tickets as it doesn’t help speeding up the response process and it’s actually against WP forum guidelines.

Hey there, @wzub, thank you for following up.

We have tested this a were able to reproduce it.

I see that the tracking is disabled on your form so the cookie that counts visits is not present, so the site don’t know how many sites someone has visited the site.

We will be following up with you once we have more information.

    Regards,

    Jorge

Thanks for the update @wpmudevsupport15. Could you give an estimated time when I can expect more info? Or have I misunderstood and there is a setting I need to change?

    Hi there @wzub

I’d like to clarify a bit on this. No, I don’t think you’re missing any setting.

Here’s the rub: even if you enable tracking for your popup, the cookie idea wouldn’t work because the cookie is only set once the popup displays the first time.

If you want to show the popup only on the 2nd visit, not the 1st, that cookie would never be set (on the 1st visit), so the popup can’t show on the subsequent visit. Catch 22. ??

The developers are looking into this, and we will update here once we do have something of substance we can offer.

    Cheers!

Thanks for explaining this further @wpmudevsupport16

We also have an embedded form in our footer, so that is always loaded. Would we be able to use that form’s display count cookie to limit the popup?

I tried setting a Browser Cookie visibility rule against that form’s cookie (hustle_module_show_count-embedded-4) > 1, but that didn’t seem to work either.

    Hi @wzub,

Would we be able to use that form’s display count cookie to limit the popup?

As stated by Patrick in the previous reply the cookies are based on each browser session, and if the Embed already has a cookie set during that browser session when the page containing the Embed is loaded before the Popup loads then it should work.

You could use the Visibility condition as follows for your popup:

I gave a quick test and it worked based on the above use case as mentioned in my system. Was the ID correct? ie hustle_module_show_count-embedded-4. You could double-check the ID by editing the Embed under Hustle > Embeds, which should show the ID in the website URL as shown in the following screenshot:

If you can confirm the settings are correct, then if possible please do share the URL to the page where you have the Embed and also the URL to the page where the popup is supposed to load, so that we could have a better idea.

    Best Regards,
    Nithin
