    There are much better contact forms for WordPress. Having used CF7 lots and had many experiences of various wordpress plugin forms, I’m genuinely surprised it has so many positive reviews. Heres a few reasons to look on and pick another:

    1. At some point you will cross the bridge that CF7 submitted forms are seen as spam by some email accounts. Yes, this is fixable and you have a lot of control over the emails contact form generate BUT sometimes regardless of the fact its set up well you’ll have a headache getting right. This doesn’t happen with many others so you can save yourself time here.

    2. The interface is minimalist – I don’t mind this so much but if your new to it then adding placeholder text, altering formatting will require you to discover what the shortcode is > not huge issue but since you set everything yourself there is a often lot of manual labour for bigger forms.

    3. THE WORST BY FAR – its glitchy (at least for me on multiple sites). It wont effect everyone as you can see the reviews… but the number of themes I have used where its been the cause of “Fatal Errors” cant be a coincidence > every time I isolate the problem to being CF7 to the point I no longer use and surprisingly no longer problems.

    OK – so not all bad. Few things to mention: not everyone has issues, some people like the fact the interface is so basic, its extremely well supported, free, add-ons make it do all sorts you cant with other forms for free.

    That said, I’m writing this because none of the above seems to outweigh issues I have with it and at least some of you will have as well.

    2 other to try instead:

    NM Forms – its very similar, not as well supported with add-ons, but is hassle-free.

    Ninja Forms – the catch is you pay for add-ons but you can get these on CodeCanyon as well and you can do a lot more with them. Personally my favourite and the interface while a little too jazzy for my liking makes complex forms quick to set up.
