Don’t have the option “+” to edit/upload profile photo

  • Hi there,
    I am using Ultimate member Version 2.5.0, on a DIVI website.
    When I go to https://site/user/username/ and click on the cog wheel, nothing happen. I see no option to change the profile photo.
    On the photo I don’t have the “plus” option to click on..

    In Ultimate member -> Settings -> Appearance -> Profile section : “Disable Profile Photo Upload” is unchecked.
    UM -> Settings -> General – Use gravatars is unchecked

    I created custom profile pages within UM (linked directly to each registration form) and for all the roles I have allowed “edit profile”.

    I don’t know what to check more… Thanks for your help

    1. Look at your browser web console if you have any JavaScript errors.

    2. Enable PHP error logging, read this guide: “How to enable debug logging”

    You will probably get a PHP log file with notices and errors: /wp-content/debug.log

    Post the content of this file here in the Forum and we can give you the PHP error explanation.

    3. If these steps not will solve your issue make a Theme/Plugin conflict test:

    Hi @missveronicatv
    Step 1 : I have looked at my browser web console to see if I had some JavaScript errors but I don’t know how to read the console..
    Please find attached the screenshot:

    As an info, when I approach the mouth to the cog wheel, at the bottom I can see javascript:void(0)

    Step 2: I have enabled PHP error logging, copying the code

    Saving and Uploading the updated wp.config.php file but nothing happened… I cannot find any debug.log file..

    You have a JavaScript error.
    Try to make the 3rd step Theme/Plugin conflict test.

    I’ve desactivated all non UM plugins. I don’t have any latest default WP theme than the one I have currently.
    The issue still exists. It does not go away…

    I don’t know what to do…

    Look at the right column at UM Forms Builder how you have set the Photo options for the Profile page..

    For each Profile form, the settings in the right column are well set: I haven’t say YES to “Disable Profile Photo Upload”…

    I have made an account at your site and found that the cog wheel is not responding at all.

    There is a JavaScript error that might explain the issue with the Profile edit.

    Can you try to deactivate your “Autoptimize: 3.1.3” Plugin.

    Exactly the cog wheel is not responding and the “+” which is supposed to be on the photo does not even appear..

    I have desactivated Autoptimize..
    But nothing seems to have changed.
    Can you see something now?

    You are using PHP 7.2.34.
    Try to update to a PHP 7.4 version.
