• My WP blog is set up to “Organize my uploads into month- and year-based folders.” It does just that, plus it creates 2 smaller sizes of any pictures I upload.

Two questions, one: What does WP do with media when I UNCHECK “Organize my uploads into month- and year-based folders”?

And is their anyway to stop WP from creating different sizes of my picture uploads? I edit any picture I used to the exact size I want, and that’s all I want. I have no use for other sizes created by WP. I’d rather not have them created at all.

Thanks for any help or pointers.

  • You can disable the creation of such images by going to Settings > Media > and setting all image sizes to 0, wordpress won’t create thumbnails anymore

    Thanks!

Does anyone know what happens when you uncheck the “Organize my uploads into month- and year-based folders” option? Does it just throw all the pictures into one image folder?

Anyone? Can anyone answer what happens when I uncheck ‘organize my uploads into month and year based folders’?

I was thinking about going that route but would like to know exactly what happens when I uncheck the box.

    Any help is appreciated. ??

My guess is that all images uploaded after the change will be stored in the main uploads folder. Older images will be unaffected.

Main uploads folder. Thanks! That’s what I needed.
