• Hello–

Thanks again for the great plugin.

We have various query loops that pull the comment total count. Often we find the number count includes unapproved comments, which can be confusing for readers.

Is there a way to only count approved comments in the comment total, or disable wpdiscuz setting the comment count? Our theme/block folks at GeneratePress/GenerateBlocks say the count is not managed by either the theme or the query loop block.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

Could you please show on some screenshots, what exactly you mean? We need to make sure we understand you well.

Yes you can see it here at this screecap:

The comment I just submitted as part of the test. It counts in the total comments displayed by the post meta (up top by the headline) and on our frontpage where we list comments as part of query loops.

Even when I’m not logged in as admin, I can see a number of comments listed, some of which are not approved. Since we often require approval before a comment is published, it means there is a difference between approved and unapproved comment counts. What we want users to use and see is the *approved* comments only.

Hope that makes sense, please let me know if I can help clarify further.

    thanks!

We see the comment count is 5 and the approved comments are also 5. The one that is not approved isn’t counted.

Thanks @gvectorssupport — it seems the issue is intermittent, solved by a recent update, or some caching problem. I will keep an eye on this and let you know if we can find another example.
