Guys, I can’t believe these forums; you’re asking the WooCommerce team to walk an impossibly fine line. You want improvements, but won’t take responsibility for your WordPress environment.

If the system is to blame, there could be a future improvement like this: WordPress should have a core element that grades the environment.

The grade would be based on (1) reputation of plugins, and (2) reputation of themes. Call it TAPS (Theme And Plugin Score). If you’re using junk or outdated plugins and themes, the grade would be strongly discounted.

If your environment fails the grade, WooCommerce shouldn’t even waste time trying to offer support.

  • I think you are right in some sense, however not everyone can buy a premium theme who supports regular updates nor they can afford. Sometimes it is because lack of technical knowledge bloggers don’t really understand whats going to come next because of an particular update.

As far as my experience goes… I may have missed to notice on a notification of the upcoming changes which can intern affect the functionality of entire website including other plugins or themes.

I give a huge thanks to Woocommerce support team to actually take time and replying to the threads here.

@techjockey, everyone can buy a premium theme with regular updates. I would recommend to even do so; your time is more valuable than the cost of a premium theme. This comes from a guy that started with a free theme and spend months on getting it to work and look smooth, then I got smart and bought a theme for 59USD and only spend a day to get everything to work and look smooth. On top of that, I’m from a 3rd world country that can eat almost 2 weeks for 59USD worth of food.

The problem is, that there are plugins for WooCommerce that are only giving updates for a year and charge you quite a large sum.
