• OTHER SITE OWNERS: Be warned, the age restriction popup will be live on your site as soon as you activate this plugin, before you have a chance to customize/brand it to your site.

Apparently common courtesy is gone these days. Nothing at all in the Description of the plugin suggested the site-wide age restriction would be automatically turned on when you activate the plugin. This means no customization, editing settings, rules, etc. BEFORE it goes live on your website.

I get that the author(s) need to make money, and they deserve it if the plugin is well-written and well-supported. From a developer standpoint, it looks like they’ve done a fine job. From a UX standpoint, however, I will NEVER understand why they would force the popup to be turned on upon activating the plugin and not allow you to turn it off without a premium license.

Honestly, I was going to buy the premium as long as the plugin didn’t cause compatibility issues, but not if I end up blocking users from visiting my site when I activate the plugin. Change this one thing, and I’ll happily try it again. Until then, please at least put a note on the plugin description that the Age Restriction Popup will be live/active as soon as the plugin is activated on a website.

    Hey @sknicholsdev,

    thanks for your valid feedback!

I took your feedback very seriously, that’s why I have included an additional checkup in yesterday’s update.

Agy now checks if the settings are configured and only then it shows the Age Gate on your website. That was a pretty good point, thanks!

    One small thing:

There was no premium lock-in for a feature like that. The behavior was the same as the pro versions as it was with the free version.

The major difference between pro and free is the WooCommerce integration and the API solution for SOFORT Ident.

Thanks again, feedback like that improves the product!

    Have a nice day,
    Patrick
