    Plugin “Accept Donations PayPal & Stripe”

    When user clicks on “Donate” button he gets PayPal message “Please wait while we perform a security check.”

    Then user receives message “This organization can’t accept donations right now”

    This plugin was last used successfully on September 17, 2024. I have three “Donate” buttons on the site and now receive the same messages for all of them.

    You may need to disable “encrypted buttons” on your PayPal account. Please see the steps shared on their website: https://www.paypal-community.com/t5/PayPal-Payments-Standard/Why-do-I-get-the-message-This-organization-doesn-t-accept/td-p/3047173

    If the issue persists, you will need to contact PayPal directly to see if they have put a freeze on your account.

    Encryption is off and has never been on.

    Hi @rickberger,

    This error is usually related to encrypted payments, can you please verify this setting:

    Login to PayPal.com > Settings? >? Account Settings > Website Payments > Website preferences > Encrypted website payments >?Block non-encrypted website payment >>?select?“Off”.?
    Once the above settings is turn “off”,?you should no longer receive the error message.

    If this does not solve the issue, I would recommend contacting PayPal directly as there may be another issue with your account.

    Good evening, Scott,

    This problem was caused by a policy change at PayPal.

    For over a year and a half your plugin worked well until it did not.

    Our Rotary Club PayPal account was registered as personal. PayPal recently decided that donations cannot be made to a personal account but only business accounts. We are in the process of changing to a business account.
